This isn’t really a process, but rather a couple of things you want to check out and tweak if needed to get the desired effect:

1.Check the “Rules” menu and make sure that copies of your mail are not made to your inbox.
2.Open the task manager and make sure that only one outlook.exe is running.
3.Some people tried deleting their email accounts and recreated them – it worked most of the time.
4.Get service pack 2 if you’re working with Windows XP.
5.Some anti-viruses like Norton actually cause the resending of outgoing mail after they scan them, so you can set the anti-virus not to scan outgoing mail if you want.

Outlook: Duplicates in Mailbox

1. If it isn’t done yet (as in the case of one piece kits), connect your RJ 45 adapter with the 9 pin which then goes to the COM 1 port. Insert the RJ 45 cable’s connector to the console port with the supplied rollover cable.

2. Execute HyperTerminal to start the session. After naming the session, select COM 1 as your port under the “connect using” section.

3. Make the proper configurations (HyperTerminal, 9600-8-n-1):

   1. Baud: 9600

   2. Data bits: 8

   3. Stop bits: 1

   4. Parity: No

   5. Flow control: No

4. Turn Cisco on to see HyperTerminal’s boot process. Press ENTER.

5. Now you’re in User Mode. Type “?” (without quotes) in the router> prompt to see a list of available commands.

6. To start making changes, type “en” or “enable” and then press ENTER to go to Privileged Mode.

7. The same goes for the router# prompt: “?” for the list but this time type “config” to make changes. To go back, to Privileged Mode press ctrl+z.

8. Type “disable” and you’ll go back to User Mode. Then type “exit” to log out.

Cisco: PC Connection Guide

In order to set up your gmail account for use with Outlook 2007, simply follow the steps below. The first part explains how to use automatic configuration, and the second part goes on the explain manual configuration for situations where the automatic doesn’t work.

1. Set up Gmail for POP mail.
    A. Go to your Gmail account settings
    B. Slect the Forwarding and POP tab.
    C. Click on the option to enable POP.
2. Load Outlook 2007.
3. Click Tools >> Account Settings.
4. Select the E-mail tab.
5. Click New.
6. Enter your Gmail account information.
    A. Be sure that you do NOT check Manually Configure Server.
7. Click Next.
8. Click Finish.
9. Everything should work perfectly.

If there is a problem, and your automatic configuration doesn’t work, Go back through the steps and check the Manually Configure Server option at STEP 6 above. Fill in the following details:

1. Email Address: Your full gmail address.
2. Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com.
3. Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com.
4. User Name: Your full gmail email address.
5. Click More Settings.
6 Check the box on the Outgoing Server tab for “My outgoing server requires authentication.”
7. Select the Advanced tab.
8. Check the box labeled “This server requires an encrypted connection”,
9. Make sure the fields match these values:
    A. Incoming Server: 995
    B. Check the box for “This server requires an encrypted connection”
    C. Outgoing Server (SMTP): 587
    D. Change the type of encrypted connection to Auto, or use TLS if you have problems.

This should solve your problem. Now you can access your gmail, a web based email account, from Outlook 2007, which means you’ll have a lot more control over how your mail is handled, not to mention such features as being able to manage your mail offline.

Add Gmail to Outlook 2007

It is possible for the default language for folders in Exchange 2000/2003 and Outlook 2000/XP/2003 to be changed when a new mailbox is created or if one is moved between servers.  

The change is determined by the location and regional settings, although this is determined by the fact that the correct language was set up within the Exchange server.

Some clients, including older versions of Outlook, have their own restrictions that do not allow for some folder to be renamed. This can be overcome though with the use of Exchange clients to make the alterations required.

Users of later versions of Outlook can do this themselves by clicking on Start, Run and then entering Outlook.exe/resetfoldernames. This will allow for the renaming the folders to the client’s language.

Another option is use a basic .REG file and run it is a registry change for all networked computers. Running the file through a REGEDIT /S switch will then create the change.

The text for the .REG file should read –

“Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftOffice10.0OutlookSetup]

“ResetFolderNames”=dword:00000001”

The text should read 11.0 for Outlook 2003 versions.

An alternate method that also works is to have users have their mailboxes open in their first choice language on the first opening. This will ensure that folders are also created in their first choice language as well.
