Methods to Quickly Open and Send a New Email Message

Method 1 – The Outlook Method

The quickest way to send an email message is to make use of the mailto command. This can be done using the Run command from the Start menu. Typing “mailto” into the text box and confirming will open a new dialog box, which can then be sent when ready. An additional benefit of using the Run command is that the email address of the recipient can also be added after the mailto command. This method though requires Outlook to be open to send the message, and will be stored until it is running.

Method 2 – The OWA Method

Outlook Web Access is likely to be installed when Exchange 2000/2003 server is present. This means that by creating a shortcut or quick launch link that leads to http://server_name/Exchange/user_name/drafts/?cmd=new, a new OWA window will open when the link is double-clicked.

Method 3 – The Script Method

Mycomputeraid.com can provide a great deal of information about using simple scripts in order to send quick emails.

Method 4 – The Send To Method

Running a tool, one like Send to Toys v2.3, will enable you to choose and customise the way that you send emails.
