1) Open Exchange System manager
2) Expand Global Settings
3) Expand Internet message Formats
4) on the right hand side right click the default click on properties
5) click on the advanced tab
6) and tick allow out of office
7) Restart the system attendant services
8) Reset any auto responders you set when this feature was unchecked
