Hiding Public Folders in Exchange 2000/2003
Hiding Public Folders in Exchange 2000/2003
It is possible to hide top-level Public Folders from users or groups. This is done once a new folder has been created in Exchange System Manager, Windows Explorer or Outlook.
Once named and type chosen, it is now necessary to enter Exchange System Manager and to go into the Folder container. Opening Public Folders, the new folder can now be clicked on. In Properties and then in Permissions, hold down the CTRL button as Client Permissions button is clicked on. Users and groups can then be selected to restrict their viewing options; this is done by checking Deny within the View Item Permission section. A warning pop-up needs to be confirmed but the folder is now not visible to those selected.
