Setting auto save feature in Word 2003
Microsoft word 2003 and 2007 setting the autosave feature interval (for Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
When I was still a novice computer user, I often forgot to save my data regularly, and as a result spent a lot of time re-writing articles that were lost due to computer malfunctions, power failures, and the like. Even in those days, most reputable applications had autosave features, but I wasn’t aware of them, or of their importance to my productivity. Today, I have Word set to save my data every 5 minutes, which means that the worst case scenario is that I must re-write only a bare few minutes of my work. Time is money, and doing a job twice wastes time. Instead of learning the hard way, as I did, set up autosave in the following manner, and save yourself a lot of hassles.
1. Open MS Office.
2. Click “Word Options”.
3. Click “Save” (it’s on the left pane).
4. Check the box to save every x minutes.
5. Set the frequency you want the data to be saved.
6. Exit back out to the main interface.
