VISTA: How Do I Make Different Wallpapers On Dual Monitors

The use of dual monitors has become popular with power users and IT technicians.  A common misconception is that you must use the same wallpaper on each monitor.  Here are the steps required to put different wallpapers on each monitor:

  1. Right-click an unused portion of the desktop.
  2. Select “Properties”.
  3. Select the “Desktop” tab.
  4. Select “Personalize”.
  5. Click “Customize Desktop”.
  6. Click “Web”
Several websites will be listed, your current home page, included.
  7. Click “New” button in the “Web” for your second wallpaper setting.
You can browse images or type a URL.
  8. Click “OK”.
  9. Click “Apply”.
10. Click and drag the second wallpaper onto the second monitor.
11. Right-click the second desktop, and select “Lock Web Items”.

That completes the process, and your monitors should now have different wallpapers.
