As we are all very aware, it is very important to update your Windows installation regularly. However, there may be times when we run into issues with updating windows. In many cases a computer will not access the windows update site at all, and in some cases a particular update may fail to download or install. Regardless of your problem, it is always a good idea to examine the Windows Update log file stored on your computer.
The Windows update log file can be found at %systemroot%WindowsUpdate.log and contains all the information related to the updating of your computer. This log file will also contain any pertinent information for those of you connecting to a SUS or WSUS server for updates.
