XP SP2 Breaks Group Policy
Resolving an issue with adm files in XP SP2.
If you use Group Policy Object Editor on an XP SP2 machine to open a GPO on a Windows Server 2003 domain controller, the updated .adm files for XP SP2 will be copied to SYSVOL and will cause a popup error message to be repeatedly displayed should you later try to open the same GPO from the console of your domain controller. The easiest way to resolve this is to upgrade your domain controller to Windows Server 2003 SP1, but if you don’t want to do this (or if you have Windows 2000 domain controllers) then see KB 842933 for how you can download a fix.
