Configuring Web Access to Newsgroups to be Hosted on Exchange 2000/2003 Server
For those running a newsgroup feed or newsgroup hierarchy it is advisable to ensure that there is an alternate form of access to them through a web browser.
This can be achieved through the Exchange System Manager console, once the server name and Protocols container has been opened. This should then allow the HTTP container to be opened, and then the Default HTTP Virtual Server can be double clicked. Then right click on the Exchange Virtual Directory, and pick New > Virtual Directory, which needs to be renamed.
Then choose Public Folder radio box within the Exchange Path, and then modify by making the folder that you are after to be visible. Confirm and then set the Authentication level that you want within the Access tab. The synchronisation may take a few minutes, but this process will allow for access to the newsgroup hierarchy through a web browser. ')}
